First off, I just want to say that I had no idea there were actually 4 different photos of the so-called “Tank Man” in Tiananmen Square, but there are and The New York Times caught up with all four photographers to get their take on one of history’s most iconic photos. According to the Times, all 4 photos were taken from the Beijing Hotel overlooking Changan Avenue (the Avenue of Eternal Peace).

Anyway, it turns out that due to that article in The New York Times, a fifth and never-before-published photo of “Tank Man” was revealed today. The photo was taken on the ground by Terril Jones and in his photo you can see “Tank Man” standing at far left in the distance as the tanks come barreling down toward him. This is pretty amazing that even 20 years after the incident new images are still coming to light.
