Heh, the one time I read Lifehacker, I come across something I can actually use in the future.

It turns out that a pretty effective way to make sure an airline does not lose your luggage is to pack a gun or starter pistol into it and tell the airline that you have a weapon to declare in your check-in. By doing this, the TSA keeps extra track of your luggage because losing a gun is major headache for the agency.

And who’s been using this trick to make sure their valuables aren’t lost? Photographers! That way, thousands of dollars of equipment are kept safe and the photographer can rest comfortably while flying without having to worry about arriving to their destination with nothing to shoot with.
