This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen the collective internet get together and do. A couple of weeks ago, somebody tweeted to Detroit Mayor David Bing about how a RoboCop statue would be awesome for the spirit and people of Detroit (the tweet cited Philadelphia having a statue of Rocky as an example). The mayor responded by saying there wasn’t any plans for a RoboCop statue, but the folks behind The Imagination Station Detroit already got the spark needed rally people behind the idea. They just needed to raise money. And raise money they surely did, with the entire $50,000 pledge met in just a matter of days.

With the help of Casey V. Westbrook the team at Imagination Station Detroit intend to erect a 7-foot tall iron statue somewhere near Michigan Central Station. Can’t wait to check this out the next time I go there!
