PDN has posted several large images from photographer John Cyr’s series on developer trays taken from famous photographers’ dark rooms.

The images are a reminder of where this medium used to be and how quickly it is fading to only-digital as a standard. His photos tell of a history in photography when photographers printed their own work and produced some very iconic images that many photographers still look up to today.

It’s interesting to see the scratch marks, discolorations, and residue left over from years of processing. Check out more from the series here.
