Did you know that the New York Public Library houses one of the largest and most complete collections of restaurant menus in the world? Their collection dates back to the 1840′s and has items ranging all the way up to today. The NYPL is now asking for the public’s health in transcribing these menus and at the same time is allowing many of them to be seen in high-resolution scans.

Lots of design inspiration — and food inspiration — to be found here I’m sure! Check it out at The NYPL website. [via]
