This almost sounds too amazing to be true. But the story goes that cake decorator Charlotte Matthews bought a batch of 30 eggs and cracked open 13 of them and found all of them to have double yolks inside. After realizing her luck she asked her husband to film her opening the rest of the 17 eggs in the batch and found that every single egg but one had a double yolk in it! That’s a total of 29 eggs in a row with double yolks!

Arbroath notes:

According to the the British Egg Information Service the chance of getting a double yolk is one in 1,000. So the odds of opening 29 on the trot are one in 1,000 to the power of 29 – or one followed by 87 zeros.

She should have bought a lottery ticket that day.
