Photo: Gregg Brown

This is really interesting. The Lens Blog has a copy of the simple and small Yellow Pages ad that Gregg Brown used to advertise his beginner photo services around the time of September 11, 2001. The ad, which advertised “24 Hour Rush Jobs” was the reason why FEMA ended up calling him several days after 9/11 and ended up giving him the amazing but heartbreaking job of photographing Ground Zero from an authorized government helicopter.

On December 22nd, Gregg Brown will host a talk at ICP about his exhibition of photographs from this project which are now on display at ICP until January 8, 2012. Go check it out!
