Yesterday, NY State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced a new $5 million ad campaign for the State of New York which takes Milton Glaser’s iconic “I Love NY” logo and replaces the heart for other objects that New Yorkers love.

The state has already released two videos/ads showing the new campaign. I think it’ll make lots of New Yorkers bitter to see this logo redone in such a way, but if anything, this actually works better for the original intent of Glaser’s logo which was made for the STATE of New York rather than for the CITY of New York.
