I was just reading this article over at The New York Times about how binge drinking until the point of black-out is a somewhat accepted form of social activity in South Korea. Often times this leads to arrests of individuals on Korean streets who then “let off steam” in jail cells until they are sober. Then they are let go with hardly a fine at all, only to repeat it again soon thereafter.

In fact, people in South Korea act so much like high school kids when they go out and drink that there’s even a blog called BLACK OUT KOREA dedicated to shaming/celebrating these individuals who black out and throw up all over city streets. If you need to be told here it is: This is not something to be proud of.
