Sony is leading the pack here, and being the front runner means being able to set the price yourself (in this case, a $2800 compact camera). But now that Sony has essentially proven that it is indeed possible to have a full frame sensor inside a compact digital camera body, I’m sure other camera makers will follow suit. And when that happens, I’ll be happy to see the price go down, down, down…
