This Gizmodo article accurately conveys all the thoughts I have about why Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield was such an important thing to space exploration — especially to the general population who have otherwise been jaded lately by missions to space. Chris Hadfield made space fun, cool, and interesting again, but in a way that wasn’t too technical. He showed that astronauts aren’t doing serious work 24/7 and his approachability to those of us on earth certainly made him an astronaut worth remembering. I’ll miss the videos from this man!
