The Huntington Library has a free online exhibition of photos entitled Form and Landscape: Southern California Edison and the Los Angeles Basin which shows off select images from the Southern California Edison archives at the library. The images are dated between 1940-1990 and offer a glimpse of Southern California during a time of great wealth, adventure, and grandeur. I suspect that for a lot of people who don’t live in California, this is what they sometimes imagine Los Angeles to be like. I certainly fall into this trap sometimes. It’s the LA mystique that gets me every time…and for good reason too I suppose. I mean, it is beautiful after all!
