Lots of statistics here that kind of make it impossible for most to follow (like always choosing an aisle seat orĀ always sitting within 5 rows of an exit door), but two things to take note of from this video:

  1. The rear of the plane is more survivable in a crash.
  2. The brace position actually works to save your life.

The 2nd point above is a big surprise to me because I often consider plane crashes to be the worst culmination of multiple things gone wrong on a flight. And at that point, I just assumed that the brace position wouldn’t really do much when a plane is falling out of the sky. But again, as the video points out above, more than 70% of people actually survive plane crashes — it’s what you do after the crash that can lead to life or death.
