Known as the Renwick Ruins, the abandoned former smallpox hospital on NY’s Roosevelt Island has had little change over the last 6 years. Yes, the structure is now landmarked and has had stabilizing braces installed to prevent further decay, but other than that, not much has changed on its exterior nor on the lot that it stands on.

If you’ve read this site for a while you’ll know that I visited this place back in April of 2009 (picture embedded after the jump for comparison). The top image shows Renwick today.
