I’m by no means an authority of any sort of music. But when I really enjoy a piece of music or song, I tend to really hold onto it. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve noticed that I look forward to less releases and tend to rather stick with a solid few and just hope those tunes carry me on through the year. And I guess the list here is where I’m at now.

These albums while not necessarily the best albums of 2013 have certainly hit a chord with me — or at least to some degree make me think of memorable portions of 2013. And I think that’s what I find matters most to me as each year passes. I want to be able to hear a song on this list 10 years from now and think Man, this brings me back to Los Angeles in 2013 or something. You get the idea.

I’m not going to bore you with the details, but after the jump you can check out the album covers and album names that I really, truly enjoyed this year. Good stuff all around. No break-through-music-stuff-like-Kanye-West-a-der-der-der.

Hope you enjoy these too!

UPDATE: I made a Spotify playlist.
