WOW. This exists? I have to go see this! Underneath Washington, DC is an abandoned tunnel that used to carry trolleys from above ground to underground in order to alleviate traffic congestion on surface streets. The tunnels were built in the 1940s and then abandoned except for a short stint as a food court in 1995.

Today, the Arts Coalition for the Dupont Underground has a 5-year lease on the space from the city and hopes to try out different ideas in order to revive the area. Would love to come visit!
