Been thinking about Philly the last few days. Mainly how I missed out on doing a lot of things there because my time there over New Year’s was so short. In doing some research I realized that I lived not more than a few blocks away from the relatively unknown and abandoned City Branch line. The City Branch line was once a main railroad line for Philadelphia, running along Broad Street via a 52-foot wide tunnel that can be accessed on foot today.

The tunnel in many ways reminds me of NYC’s own “Freedom Tunnel“because of the similar shafts of light streaming down into the tunnel from the street above. I’d like to go back here and check it out, along with a number of other spots I’ve put on a small list.
