Lynda.com is celebrating 25 years of Photoshop with this video of how film photographers manipulated images before computers.

John Knoll. You should know the name by now if you use Photoshop on a daily basis (it’s on the PS splash screen). Here he is recreating a tutorial for one of the earliest versions of Photoshop.

The latest version of Photoshop CC includes a new feature called Focus Masks that lets you select an object in an image based on the focus. This is great for portraits where the background and foreground are differentiated by a shallow depth of field. Definitely a time-saver.

BuzzFeed conducted an interesting experiment here and asked 4 normal women to pose in a real photoshoot and then look at themselves after a professional Photoshop retoucher has had his/her hand at the images.
